MESSAGE FROM THE CEO

Dear members,

On behalf of the directors, management, and staff who made the Credit Union for Berkeley Students, Faculty, and Staff possible, I welcome you to our campus branch and thank you for selecting our credit union as your financial institution of choice. Our mission is to provide quality services and education to help you achieve your personal financial goals.

As a member-owned credit union, we strive to offer our members competitive interest rates on deposits and loans, and to provide you with professional, personalized service. We are always looking for opportunities to expand and improve. As of August 2010, we are now participants in shared branching which will allow members to go to participating credit unions nationwide to conduct personal banking, free of charge. Ten new ATMs have also been established on and around the UC Berkeley campus for the convenience of all members.

As we all manage through this very challenging time of financial uncertainty, you can be certain that the credit union is available to assist you. The more you use us, the better we are able to serve you.

Due to recent trend in fraud, we are taking preventative measures by blocking specific states. The latest states to be blocked are Alabama, North Carolina, Virginia, Washington D.C., Texas, Florida, and Louisiana. If you are a member who is traveling or living in these areas, you will not be able to use your CUBS/CCFCU debit card or credit card. Please contact us at least 24 hours in advance to un-block your card.

If you are planning on traveling out of the country, CUBS/CCFCU is required to place a travel alert on your account to allow ATM/Debit/Credit Card transactions to be accepted. If you have any questions or want to set up a travel alert, stop by our branch or call (510) 295-1632.
